About this item

The soapstone plates with frame combine the genuineness of cooking on stone with the practical metal structure, with wenge-colored handles, to cook and serve your dishes with style and ease.

They are available in round, square and rectangular shape, in different formats, to adapt to all kitchens and all dishes.

A STEATITE: CHARACTERISTICS OF THE STONE

Ŀ Composed of 40/50% of talc (therefore it is a natural non-stick) and 40/50% of magnesite (makes the stone resistant and compact).

Ŀ Outstanding temperature retention properties.

Ŀ Immune to the action of alkaline acids, it therefore cooks food while preserving its natural aroma, not altering it.

Ŀ Being a natural non-stick, it does not allow the oil and / or the various substances contained within the food to be absorbed by the stone itself.

INITIAL TREATMENT

1. Wash the stone with salt water and dry it thoroughly.

2. Grease the stone on both sides.

We recommend the use of seed oil (sunflower, oil, peanut, corn)

therefore has a smoke point above 200 ° C.

We strongly advise against extra virgin olive oil which has a low smoke point.

3. Let it "rest" for at least 24 hours, cleaning it from any excess oil.

4. Place it in the switched off oven, bring the temperature to 150 ° C and let it heat up for at least 40 minutes.

After this process the stone is ready for use; it is advisable to always heat it slowly and evenly

WARNINGS

Ŀ Avoid any type of thermal shock to the stone that could cause it to break.

Example: do not put the hot stone in contact with cold and / or wet surfaces, much less immerse it in water;

do not put the "cold" stone (at room temperature) in an oven whose temperature is already over 100 ° C.

Ŀ Never put the stone in direct contact with the flame: always use a flame arrestor.

Ŀ Any small veins or “micro” cracks that could form after the first use do not compromise its use.

Ŀ To clean it, use a cloth soaked in vinegar when it is still warm and a scraper or a non-abrasive sponge. Do not use detergents.

Ŀ Never touch the stone and any iron, steel, copper or metal support with bare hands when it is at temperature.

Ŀ Although the stone can withstand very high temperatures (up to 800 ° C), we do not recommend heating it beyond

250 ° C and we recommend not placing it in wood-fired ovens.
