Make a do -it -yourself greenhouse

Several people in recent years have come closer, both for work reasons and simply for hobbies, to the earth, perhaps to make gardening or to cultivate a plot of land and start a small one personal garden. To obtain thus, over time and with adequate care, vegetables and fresh and genuine fruit. However, the different plants need protection from the adversity of the time and the variation of temperature.

Here then the need to have one greenhouse, which protects the fruits of the earth from the low temperatures of autumn and winter and late frosts of early spring. You can buy those already prefabricated in specialized stores, however some love to build them on their own. And in this regard, let's try to see how a do -it -yourself greenhouse, through a few simple steps.

Preliminary operations

Before buying the necessary material and putting yourself at work, you must first decide the size of the greenhouse, its location and then trace the area on which it will be raised on the ground. For the latter delimitation operation, you can use stakes or pickets to be tied together with a string or a bricklayer wire. As for the management of the greenhouse, it is recommended to guide the short side of the same south. Finally, you have to choose the type of greenhouse and there are various ones.

The most common in our territory are "in Casetta" or "tunnel"And their size depend on the size of the soil available. There are also the close greenhouses, particularly useful for small flower beds near walls. Of course, the type of structure varies according to many factors: from the size of the soil owned to the individual and particular needs of the agricultor to whom it will serve.

The materials to be used

On the market there are different types of materials and also easily available in specialized stores. First of all, you have to choose the greenhouse, which must be plastic material, possibly transparent and above all resistant, whose thickness is around 0.15-0.20 millimeters. Of course, the size of the sheet must be far greater than the measure actually necessary.

Another important element are the plastic pipes, resistant but flexible, which will be the window skeleton that will be made. The i Hydraulic pipes, with a diameter of about 1 centimeter and length between 1.5 and 2.5 meters, based on the height you want to provide to the greenhouse. The individual pipes will then be united by very resistant, 20 centimeters in length grown tubes or sleeves in very resistant.

Make the greenhouse

One of the ends of the first of the longest pipes must be buried at 20-30 centimeters of depth, at a distance appropriate based on the width and shape of the structure you want to have. We continue with a second tube, to be planted in parallel to the first and at a distance of 80-100 centimeters from this. Forbidden the second, continue with the other remaining long pipes. It is then advisable, to strengthen the structure, to plant a curved picket, at a 40 centimeters between the first and last bow, in the center of the width. 

Before going to completely intervene the different arches, they can be wrapped with the wire, to be distributed for their length, until they fix it to the picket, finally knotting it to it. At this point you can cover the structure with the sheet, also with the help of mobile weights (for example, bricks, stones and wooden axes) to keep it stopped on the ground. Remember, however, to leave one of the ends of the structure a free portion of the towel, which allows the opening and closing of the same.

This portion must be cut in a longitudinal way, in order to obtain two flaps that combine and overlap perfectly. In order to consolidate the entry of the structure, you could add a further sheet. However, on the sides of the edges of the sheet, holes must be practiced, better if covered with metal rings. Inside these holes, a cord must pass, to be fixed to pickets inserted in the ground. At this point, our greenhouse is ready for use.
